The project
The renovation and extension of an agricultural complex to turn it into an educational farm.
The building gathers areas for teaching and study, together with the spaces of everyday living: living room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, garage. The tallest volume keeps the outline of the barn and opens with a large glazed wall; the low white volumes stretch out across the lawn.
Outside, everything is organised for the related activities: vegetable gardens, pens for farmyard animals, tunnels, parking and camper areas equipped with washing machines and recycling points.
The project draws on the model of the Pedagogical and Sensory Park for young people, and aims at a recreational environment free of architectural barriers: the play activities are designed to involve children and young people with disabilities too.
