The extension of a healthcare centre in the garden of Villa Bellati, a listed eighteenth-century villa on via Roma in Spinea. Nothing could be built above ground: the new building sits entirely below garden level, hidden in the greenery, crossed by a continuous route between natural terraces, stone walls and green walls. Water, sun and wind are its sources of energy.
The Plan Award is the international prize of The Plan magazine for architecture, design and urban planning. It sets completed works and future projects side by side, divided into categories: for each one the jury names a winner and, when it sees fit, one or more honourable mentions. From 2015 to 2019 the practice brought its projects to every edition: six projects in five years, twice shortlisted and one honourable mention.
